Janelle joined us at the Wyomissing Hair Studio in 2021, the same year that she received her cosmetology license. We love the positive, artistic energy that she brings to the front of house and appreciate all of the back of house support she provides the team.
Laurel joined the Wyomissing Hair Studio in the summer of 2020, just as the salon was able to reopen from the COVID-19 pandemic. Laurel’s path is different than most salon careers: she packs a powerhouse of experience in the service industry, holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Alvernia University and manages the front of house operations at Wyomissing Hair Studio with plenty of sparkle and a little bit of sass. Laurel brings a fierce sense of dedication and responsibility to the Front of House management and with a bonus specialty of managing simultaneous phone calls and baking snacks for the team. She says, “the best part of working at WHS is the respect and appreciation I am shown on a daily basis. The environment here is truly built on love and compassion, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be part of the WHS family.
Drea celebrates nearly ten years in the salon industry and almost five with Wyomissing Hair Studio. She loves connecting with customers and seeing the artistry of her teammates, often while holding down the front desk reception area during midweek rush-hour. Holding a BA in English/Professional Writing from Kutztown University, Dre also manages the Wyomissing Hair Studio brand, social media marketing and team communications. Dre is always ready to offer a local recommendation or share your daily horoscope with you as you book your next visit.
Naz joined the Wyomissing Hair Studio in December of 2019. She celebrates almost twenty years in the salon industry and loves nothing more than helping her guests feel beautiful and confident. Currently a high school senior, Navia attends Berks Career Technology Center for Cosmetology with plans to graduate in 2022. She joined Wyomissing Hair Studio in October 2019 and received her nail technician license in the summer of 2021. Navia is a key player on our salon support team, as she continues to learn the ropes of the industry. You may have had one of her scalp massages which are out of this world! Her interests are nail care, nail art and haircutting. Fun fact: Navia changed her hair color nine times in 2021.
A 2020 graduate of Empire Beauty School, Alissa loves to modernize classic looks to make them fun and wearable for people on-the-go with busy lifestyles. She continues her salon education by attending classes each year to stay knowledgeable on industry trends and techniques. Scott worked as an educator for the Matrix and Yunsey color lines. This allowed him to travel and work beside a myriad of talented designers and platform artists, doing backstage work at trade shows across the country. Scott’s main focus as a stylist is enhancing his client’s unique features, using personalized color and timeless shapes to bring out their natural beauty. For him, there is great satisfaction in seeing a smile on his clients face as their style unfolds. Scott is thrilled to be a part of the team at WHS!
Caitlin joined the Wyomissing Hair Studio after graduating high school in Spring of 2018. Determined to work in a professional salon environment during cosmetology school, Cait graduated from Empire Beauty School in May 2019. Since then, she’s developed a true love for thermal hair processes. She has a unique style of molding the hair in ways that works for each individual. Additionally, she offers hair cutting, hair coloring, balayage, vivid colors, keratin treatments, conditioning treatments, silk press, blowouts and updo’s. In October 2022, Cait celebrates four years of her salon career at WHS. Cait continuously brings happiness to the salon environment with her bright smile and positive attitude.
Jess realizes that for many people, hair is their most important feature. Her career focus has been allowing people to feel better about themselves and have more confidence, through hair. Jessica especially loves updo’s and formal styles because her creative side breaks through to construct a beautiful hairstyle. She also loves creating looks with fashion colors and educating her clients on maintaining optimal hair health throughout years of color changes.
She says, “Everyone at Wyomissing Hair Studio has their own personality and special talent that they are willing to share.” Jess loves her job because she’s reminded daily how great this work environment is. In her downtime, Jess loves to read and continues to let her creativity flow into writing books.
Judy has been in the hair industry for 34 years. She graduated from the Bryland School of Cosmetology in 1983 and started out as a nail tech. She spent 3 years doing nails and even taught sculptured nails in the mid 80’s for Raylon Corp. Judy decided she wanted to do something more creative so she began to focus solely on hair. She was a Redken Colorist for 33 years and has also been trained in Matrix, Loreal Inoa, Yunsey and Euphora. Judy spent time as an educator as well as a successful salon owner. She opened her salon in 2004 and operated it for 12 years until she decided she wanted to eliminate the administrative responsibilities and concentrate on her craft and creativity at which point she found her home at WHS. Judy specializes in color, especially corrective color and designer cuts and waves. She believes the best part of her job has been meeting all the wonderful clients through the years and feels blessed to have long standing relationships with them some from the very beginning. Judy loves people and is inspired by making them feel and look their best. When Judy is not in the salon she enjoys traveling, gardening, nature, walking and spending time with her family.
Sam holds a Global Studies degree from Penn State Berks. She had always wanted to be an Archaeologist. After completing her schooling she realized she needed a break and that the traditional path to go to grad school did not appeal to her so she entered the work force. After spending 3 years in position she hated she decide to make a change. Sam enrolled in Empire Beauty School, following in the footsteps of her Grandmother who had also been a hairdresser. Finally she was fueling her creative side. Sam loves edgy colors and alternative styles. Sam is thrilled to be a part of WHS’s New Talent Program where she can be mentored by our Master Architects while honing her skills.
Hairstylist, Sarah Schaeffer graduated from Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in Philadelphia. Sarah specializes in dimensional color and has a strong background and passion for trendy, edgy haircuts and styles. She also loves doing blow outs, updos and hair extensions. She pulls her inspiration and creativity from current fashion and music. If you are looking for a fashion forward color or cut, look no further Sarah’s your girl!
Tara has been with WHS since the beginning. She is the Business Manager as well as a licensed cosmetologist. Tara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Albright College as both a Eugene Shirk and Jacob Albright Scholar. She brings with her an extensive background in sales, marketing, and business management. In 2009, looking for a change and desire to feed her creative side, Tara decided to fulfill her lifelong dream to go to beauty school. Soon after completing her program Tara found her home at WHS. Tara’s unique combination of business acumen along with her experience behind the chair allows her to realize the challenges stylists’ face on a daily basis. This in return enables her, along with the entire management team, to create a work environment which fosters success, creativity, team work, positivity, and balance. Kat O’Mara brings over 12 years of experience to the salon. She specializes in color, having won a “best overall color” award during a live hair competition, and has traveled and trained in Canada and Mexico, both trips being awards for being one of the top 90 colorists in a nationwide company. She loves all parts of doing hair, especially updos, and is trained in fusion extensions. Kat loves bringing a personal touch to the industry and values the professional, yet friendly, relationships she has built.
We are proud to have Lynn Civitarese as a team member at Wyomissing Hair Studio. As Assistant Artistic Director, she brings a wealth of experience and ultimate compassion to the guests that visit her. Lynn has mentored many stylists through her vast exposure and training with the leaders in our industry, such as: Irvine Rusk, Lee Anthony, Tim Hartley, Annie Humphreys, Jo Blackwell, Chris Sorbie, Martin Parsons, Renato Brunas, and Randy Rick. Lynn’s progressive approach to education and fashion influence has led to great success in her career.
Denise joined the Wyomissing Hair Studio in July 2012. It has been a perfect fit for her and her customers. Strictly a men’s hairstylist, she has been in the business over 40 years. She played an integral part in a growing and ultimately successful company for 39 years. Coming from a classic era, when full service was of utmost importance, it is now ingrained in what she does. With hair designing & coloring classes, seminars & workshops, too numerous to count, she has all the tools needed to give the best to each and every client. Denise thoroughly enjoys men’s hair color, in any fashion; from subtle ‘hint of a tint’ gray coverage, to head turning upbeat looks. Her greatest joy in her job is to see her customers look terrific and feel great about their look when they leave. “To be the reason for someone to feel renewed and smile brighter is the best return a stylist can achieve!”
Jennifer’s first foray in hair was a simple and precise chin length bob that she gave herself at 12 years of age. Since then countless hours of her life have been spent studying magazines and losing herself in the fantastical images of their editorial features. She has always viewed hair as art and it’s her primary medium of expression. She has studied and taught classic cutting, coloring and styling techniques learned at the renowned House of Bumble and Bumble in NYC and has had the good fortune to have met and trained with Oribe, an industry icon. She’s participated in numerous photo shoots and constantly seeks creative opportunities to build her skill set. Jennifer puts the emphasis on her client’s personality and lifestyle needs when deciding what techniques and products to use. She is a Eufora Elite team educator and thrives when she can share her knowledge with others.
Gayle Ditzler started in the beauty industry at a very young age learning all aspects of the business. She attended Randy Rick Beauty Academy. Early in her career began working at one of the finest salons West Reading. She started out as a shampoo girl and receptionist. Then later had the opportunity of becoming Randy Rick’s personal assistant for 2 years. The wealth of information she learned from working with one of the industry’s top stylist and champions gave her a very strong foundation. Having assisted in hair shows up and down the east coast is something that she will always be grateful about. “I’m very passionate about our industry! I always aim to please knowing communication is the key when helping change someone’s hair style. Hearing someone say ‘they would follow me to the ends of the earth’ and turning a client around to the mirror with the biggest smile on their face brings more joy to me than anything.”
Linda has been in the hair industry for over 30 years. She attended The Academy of Beauty Culture and began her career in Western, PA. Looking to challenge her creative side and grow her business she moved to Reading, Pa eventually progressing to a top 200 salon. She spent 15 years at this prestigious salon, immersing herself in the wealth of knowledge and education it offered. Linda took time off to raise her children returning to the business at a smaller, upscale salon where she spent another 10 years honing her skills. In 2014 she found her home at the Wyomissing Hair Studio. Linda is thrilled to be part of a “teaching salon” where education, teamwork, and a superior guest experience are foremost. Linda specializes in up do’s, cutting, and color. She has even had worked published in “Passion” and has clients that have followed her for 25 years. Linda is passionate about the industry and loves coming to work each day creating beautiful hair while fostering long term relationships with her clients.
Liz Alvarado joined WHS in December 2014. She brings over 10 years experience with her. Liz has attended numerous color, cutting, and formal styling classes. She has had intensive training in several color lines including, Goldwell, Socolor, Wella, Yunsey and Inoa. She loves all aspects of her career but really excels in formal styles. “It is such a great feeling doing a bridal party and knowing you were a part of their special day.” She truly loves what she does, “I love making people feel and look beautiful.” Liz is passionate about hair and is always looking for ways to expand her education and staying current on the latest trends to bring to all of her guests.
Heather’s passion for hair started in high school when she literally worked on the entire senior class’ hair for their yearly talent show. She nurtured her passion by attending The Randy Rick Beauty Academy in 2001 later finishing at Empire Beauty School. While in school she traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the Hair World Competition and won 4th place overall! Heather is a well rounded stylist and is continually attending classes to perfect her skills and stay current on the latest trends. Some of her specialities include up do’s, color, highlights, and extentions. All of which she has sought out specialized training in. She is even a certified Goldwell Color Educator. Heather enjoys learning new techniques and spreading her love of hair!
Caela Cummings graduated from the Berks Career and Technology Center in June 2015. She started with WHS in April 2015 as support staff and was soon promoted to our New Talent Team. Caela loves all aspects of hair but really excels in color. She loves the close connections she makes with her clients and getting to know them better. Chrissy attended Berks Career & Technology Center and received her license in 1994. She launched her career at Barry Lloyds spending 2 years there and later joined Outlooks for Hair where she honed her skills and established a loyal client base. After 14 years at Outlooks, Chrissy decided she needed a change in her creative environment and found her home at WHS in December of 2014. Chrissy has taken advanced classes in hair cutting, perming, and waxing. She especially loves doing color and as a result has taken many classes focused on various color techniques and lines including Yunsey, Matrix, Goldwell, and Inoa. Chrissy has won multiple awards for top service and retail sales but her favorite thing about the industry is the lasting relationships she makes with her clients. When she’s not at the salon Chrissy is spending time with family and her two sons Braden and Bryce.
Ashley joined the Wyomissing Hair Studio in November 2015. Initially she competed in district competitions for beauty and theatrical makeup which stoked a passion for the beauty industry within her. Ultimately she decided to pursue a career in cosmetology and attended the Berks Career and Technology Center. Ashley graduated in 2015 and soon after decided to launch her career at the Wyomissing Hair Studio. Ashley loves learning new hair coloring techniques and then implementing them on her guests.
